About The Author:
Born in Edmonton AB, Kathleen began storytelling in grade school. She has many fond memories of passing summer afternoons, out on the swings in her backyard, creating tales that entertained her neighborhood friends.
When she finally decided to venture from her backyard, Kathleen pursued a career in storytelling. She graduated from college with a Diploma in Radio and Television Arts and traveled the path of freelance writing for numerous local newspapers.
Many years later, too many to talk about without seeming rude and nosy, Kathleen has channeled her imagination to the pages of her novels. She hopes that you enjoy her tales and encourages you to feel free to read her stories on the swing set in your own backyard.
Kathleen has traveled from Edmonton, to a new backyard with a lovely mountain view. She spends time there with her beloved husband, adored son and silly dog. They let her tell them stories and always laugh in all of the correct places. She's lucky, and she knows it.

Book Description:
Can you imagine being forty-five, your last child has moved on to college and the time is ripe for you to blaze a new trail into your future? Pat Keegan can. Well, except for the tiny detail that all her preconceived notions about how that future was going to shape up are completely out the window.
Pat was under the impression that once her child rearing years were complete she and her husband would walk hand in hand toward a rose colored future. Fat chance. Before their daughter had even been accepted by a college, he was blathering about needing space to rediscover himself and made quick strides to the nearest exit.
Suddenly, Pat is divorced, rattling around her large house and asking the empty rooms, "What now?" She knows she has to carve out new dreams - after all, forty-five is a far cry from the end of the line - But how?
Join Pat as she jumps feet first back into the world outside her door, takes on a new business venture, is pursued by a much younger man and has to muddle her way through more emotions than she knew she had - all to finally attain her goal of rediscovering who she is and what she wants from the next phase of her life.
My Book Review:
What would you do if you became an empty nester, rambling around in a large home all by yourself? No husband or children under foot ... For better or worse, life is turning a corner ... and for forty-five year old Pat Keegan, there's no time like the present to step out of her comfort zone and redefine her life!
For the past eighteen months, Pat Keegan has gone through some tough times: her son Michael left for college; husband Stephen left her to find himself; her beloved dog, Little Puck, passed away; and now her baby daughter Crystal has left home for college. With an empty nest, a too large house, and no apparent plans for the next phase of her life, Pat decided that it's time for a new beginning. An unexpected run in with a sexy younger man while jogging, prompts Pat to consider a total makeover. She becomes a business owner when she purchases a used bookstore, and has plans to downsize to a smaller house. Another unexpected run in with Ian, the sexy younger man who is very interested in her, leaves Pat thinking that 45 just might be the new 35! With the help and companionship of some very close friends and a budding relationship with Ian, Pat's new life takes flight with a few bumps along the way, but it definitely has some very Favorable Conditions!
Favorable Conditions is a fun, lighthearted story that will leave a smile on your face. The storyline is well written, and it's fast-paced flirty style captivates the reader as they go along for the ride on Pat's journey. This isn't a pity party story, rather it is an uplifting story of how one woman rediscovers the world around her, and redefines the direction that she wants her life to go in. The characters are warmhearted and delightful, their amusing interactions with each other were very entertaining, you can't help but giggle and smirk. I absolutely loved Pat and could definitely relate to her since I am in that mid-forty age range. Pat's determination and courage to rediscover herself and start a new life is uplifting, its message of hope that a woman of any age can be and do whatever she wants is refreshing! Her fun-loving friends Melanie, Gerry and Travis are the type of friends that are definitely keepers, their caring and supportive way towards Pat made me smile and think of my own close knit little group of friends. I loved how the author developed Pat and Ian's relationship, it was intriguing and thoughtful, the real life issues and obstacles that they faced together made the story that much more interesting and compelling.
Favorable Conditions is a delightful and enjoyable book that every woman should read! Author Kathleen Kole has provided her fans with another wonderful story, I look forward to reading more of her books.
