Books are food for my soul! Pull up a beach chair and stick your toes in the sand as the Jersey surf rolls in and out, now open your book and let your imagination take you away.

Wednesday Wisdoms

Welcome to Wednesday Wisdoms

Every Wednesday I will be sharing a book related wisdom quote in the hope of sharing my passion for reading books. I hope that the wisdom quotes spark an interest in reading in your life.

Today's Book Wisdom Quote

This book wisdom quote means a lot to me personally. As a child my parents gave me the gift of loving to read books. They explained to me that books can provide many things: be an adventure, be a safe place, be an escape from the troubles in our world, be a vehicle that stimulates curiosity, be an enjoyable hobby, be a provider and searcher of truth, and to simply make you smile.

As an only child, books were my best friends and to this day they still are. My passion for reading has grown as I have aged, and they have provided so much of what my parents had said, and I can't imagine a day going by that I don't escape within the pages of a book.

Whenever I am asked why I love to read, and why I have so many books in my house, I try to explain what reading books have to offer the world. I usually get rolled eyes or blank stares, and this perplexes me to no end. With so many genres available to read, I can't imagine that people don't take a moment to see what books may pique their interest. I usually just shake my head and chalk it up to not being open minded enough to maybe see what books may provide to their lives, it is what it is.

I always hope that future generations will find the gift of reading books, if my post opens the eyes of possible new readers, then I feel like I have accomplished my mission to pass on my passion.

So, my challenge is to take a moment and look into the world of books and the various genres that are available, you may surprise yourself and find a book that may resonate with you!
