Book Description:
Once is chance. Twice is fate.
Sage Collins knows a thing or two about odds. A year ago, she was a data analyst until she burned it all down to pursue her dream of becoming an author. One whirlwind bestseller and a struggling second book later, and Sage isn’t sure she’ll ever write a novel again.
But then an accidental encounter with an irritating passenger on the flight to Comic Con leaves Sage in an untested position. That passenger is Theo Sharpe: a breakout actor on the cusp of fame. And, unfortunately, the paparazzi have mistaken her for his girlfriend.
Armed with signature British charm and a smile that could tame oceans, Theo wears fame like a well-fit coat…though Sage can see there’s something deeper held in his eyes. But his fans are too involved in the drama, the pressure to deliver the next bestseller is on, and Sage and Theo both must agree there’s nothing between them. They don't have to acknowledge that saying it doesn't make it true.
When Sage decides to flee to Scotland to clear her head and write her novel, she expects to find fresh air and the stillness to think. What she doesn’t expect is Theo Sharpe to come back into her life…and how he may be her greatest miscalculation of all.
An emotionally charged novel in the vein of Ashley Poston and Yulin Kuang, The Odds of You is a smart and sexy first contemporary novel from bestselling romantasy author Kate Dramis.
My Book Review:
In The Odds Of You, author Kate Dramis weaves a lighthearted romantic tale about the odds of finding unexpected love.
Sage Collins is following her dream of being an author. Her first dystopian novel was very successful, but she's having a hard time following it up with a sequel, and the deadline to submit the manuscript is fast approaching.
Sage Collins is following her dream of being an author. Her first dystopian novel was very successful, but she's having a hard time following it up with a sequel, and the deadline to submit the manuscript is fast approaching.
Theo Sharpe is an actor on the brink of becoming a major star. The paparazzi love to follow him, and of course his fanbase is hardcore.
Sage and Theo meet on the same flight to Comic Con in NYC. Sage doesn't follow the film industry, and is not a big fan of watching movies, and has no clue who Theo is until they arrive at the airport, and the paparazzi mistake her as his girlfriend which creates a huge dramatic uproar with his fanbase.
With the nonstop online drama, having writer's block, and the pressure to finish her second novel, Sage flees to the Isle of Skye in Scotland to clear her head and meet the deadline for her second book. But even with the quietness of the cottage she's renting, she's still in her head, and her longtime issue with needing validation and being enough keeps her from finishing the manuscript. That is until she unexpectedly runs into Theo at a local pub. Theo is in town staying at his family's vacation home contemplating his next film project and is struggling with following in his dead brother's footsteps and always being compared to him, while he dreams of following his own interests. As Sage and Theo connect, they both learn to deal with their personal baggage and help each other get back their respective passions, but what are the odds of them finding love too?
The Odds Of You is such a fun romantic story that easily keeps the reader engaged as they follow Sage and Theo's story. Set in Scotland, the reader follows along as their unexpected meeting helps both of them gain a renewed sense of self-discovery, and a chance at finding love and happiness in their lives.
There was a great mixture of emotion, drama, angst, humor, and crazy antics mixed in this story. The author does a great job of describing Sage and Theo's individual backstory and the personal baggage that they carry into their careers. This was such a fun storyline to follow, the author adds Sage's crazy girlfriends Emerson and Margot into the mix with their hilarious texts with Sage and Theo, it will keep the reader laughing as they turn the pages. Even as Sage and Theo deflect about their interest in each other, both realize that sparks fly between them. You can't help but cheer them on, and hope that they realize they're meant for each other.
I would be remiss if I didn't mention that this is author Kate Dramis' debut romance novel, she has previously written a romantasy series. I really enjoyed reading this story, and I hope that the author will write more romance novels!
The Odds Of You is a heartfelt story that has enough emotional depth, drama, romance, comedy, and witty banter, that makes it a delightfully entertaining romantic tale that romance fans will certainly enjoy!
