Every day when I open my facebook page there are readers on there that have read my books and express how much they enjoy them and how they ‘can’t wait’ for the next one to come out. THAT is what motivates me to keep writing. It’s the most awesome motivation ever.
What is the best advice you have ever received as a writer and how do you use it? What would you offer up as advice to aspiring authors?
The best advice I ever received is to read. Read everything you can in the genres that interest you. That is what I’ve done and it truly has been very good advice. It is the exact same advice I would give to anyone who would like to write a book. Read, read, read. Study how the authors you like word their phrases, how they verbalize feelings and situations. I have always loved to read and I can still remember the first book I ever read that took me captive and pulled me into another world, another life and I was hooked.
A typical day in my writing life is me getting out of bed and getting ready for the day first thing. I eat some breakfast and then I head to my office where I work for six to eight hours a day, stopping to go make some lunch and bring it up to eat while I work. I drink a lot of water and usually have a camel back of water handy and maybe some nuts if I get snacky. The time flies as I begin to type and that movie starts playing in my head. The trick is keeping up with the story as I watch it unfold in my head. But nothing happens until my fingers hit that keyboard.
I will write about three to five chapters and then once I see how it’s going to unfold I grab my iPad and start writing chapter headings that will guide me through to the end of the book without a lot of digressing and unnecessary paths.
It’s the most fun I’ve had ever, this writing of books. I am blessed to be able to stay home and write books. Our six children are all grown and gone with children of their own, which leaves me a quiet home to work in. Writing these stories fills the void my children once occupied. I never want to do anything else.
I’m currently working on my second series, Passions in the Park with the first book just out, Love Me Anyway. I’m working on the second book in the series now, Cherish Me Always and plan to have it live by the end of January.
Other books/genres I’ve done:

A Cry Out Of Time (10-12 yrs)
Pirates of Shadowed Time (10-15yrs)

Book Excerpt:
“Don’t play those games with me, young lady,” said Keith, “I’ve been around too long, and don’t have that much time left that I would enjoy the game now. You liked him, and you know it.”
Alexa dropped dejectedly down in the seat across from Keith.
“Did I really blow it? I can’t fall for anyone again, Keith. I really can’t.”
Keith chuckled and looked down at his empty coffee cup.
“How old are you? Twenty-six? Twenty-eight max? Don’t you think that’s kind of a long time to be alone? You may have to do that ‘kissing-the-frogs’ thing for a while, but you don’t have to sleep with every frog you kiss, and you don’t have to expect every one of them to turn into a prince. But you could at least enjoy yourself along the way. I need some coffee.”
Alexa sighed and reached across the table to pour the steaming coffee into his cup.
“I can’t, Keith. I mean it; and I don’t want to. I don’t want to deal with another human being in my life.”
“Yes, you do.” He said with determination.
“How do you--How could you even remotely know that?”
Keith looked at her across the table. He picked up his coffee cup and took a slow sip, then put the cup back down on the table and stared into the dark liquid.
“I know that because there isn’t a human being on the face of this earth that doesn’t need to be loved.” He looked into her eyes. “You’re not betraying the memory of your father, nor are you giving in to a life you swore you’d never want. Be human Alexa; live again. Square your shoulders, take a deep breath and give it a go. It’s a ride you can stop at any time.”

My Book Review:
After suffering the loss of her father at the hands of her ex-husband, Alexa moves to the quiet small town of Startup, Washington, where she purchases a diner and tries to put the past behind her. But when a handsome mysterious stranger named Cayman walks into Alexa's life, she is forced to confront the ghosts and mysteries from the past, as danger and romance lurks around the corner.
The Lies That Save Us is an intriguing romantic suspense novel that easily captivates the reader's attention with it's exciting mixture of mystery, suspense, and romance. As the reader follows Alexa and Cayman's journey to unravel her father's mysterious past, they are kept on their toes guessing as riveting twist and turns unfold involving secrets, deception, and danger. And if that isn't enough, the romantic chemistry between Alexa and Cayman slowly builds along the way. I loved the mixture of romance and intrigue, it kept the story interesting, fast-paced, and exciting to follow, even though the reader is left wanting more from the cliffhanger ending.
Alexa and Cayman are likable and easy to relate to. As their story unfolds they come to life, and easily draw the reader in with their engaging dialogue and interactions. Both are strong characters that you just can't help but like, and their chemistry is what makes romance novels wonderful to read.
The Lies That Save Us has everything a romantic suspense fan could ask for. It is an entertaining and enjoyable story that will keep you captivated, wanting more, and looking forward to reading the next book in the series.
