Character Interview
Character Interview with Alli.
How has your life changed since Confessions of an Alli Cat was written?
Alli: Well, I got married and my last name changed to Harris. After a LOT of drama and ridiculous mishaps. But I don't have enough time in this interview to list them all out. You'll have to read book two in the Cougar Chronicles to hear them. Just make sure you wear a Depends-- you might pee yourself from laughing at some of the situations we found ourselves in.
What's it like to have a best friend like Sara?
Alli: *rolls eyes* Um. What's it like to get swallowed up by the eye of a hurricane? Because that's what it's like.
How are things with Alex?
Alli: Things are amazing with Alex. *smiles dreamily* He's amazing. He's in his element whether he's in his office at Zellers or if he's walking through the winery with me. I made a good choice concerning Alex.
Okay, that begs the question of what are things like with Colby?
Alli: *blushes* Well, he's my step-son now. And it's really inconsequential that he's the one that taught me how to drop a man to his knees in five minutes, right? *blushes again* He's actually doing really well. And things aren't weird with us at all.
Some readers have expressed their displeasure over the fact that you never told Alex about you and Colby. What would you say to that?
Alli: Well... I would just say that life isn't black and white. There are times when the truth would be more hurtful than it is worth. Colby and I are finished. We were never seriously involved- it was an arrangement. A fun arrangement. If we had been in love, that would have been different. But as it was, I truly believe I made the right choice. Alex told me himself that he didn't need to know about my past lovers.
What are you reading right now?
Alli: Well, I just finished up an ARC of Courtney's next book, If You Stay. Holy cow-- it was intense. I felt like she reached in, grabbed my guts and then put them back in the wrong place. But in a good way.
Some readers have wondered ... did Colby fall in love with you? Is that why he was so quick to want you to be happy with his father?
Alli: *looks uncertain* I'm not sure. If he did, he hid it well. But you don't need to worry about him. He's doing really, really well.
What's your favorite song right now?
Alli: Well, Sara makes fun of me, but I really like Taylor Swift's new album, Red.
Would you recommend a Brazilian wax?
Alli: I never thought I would say this, but yes. It hurts like a wench the first couple of times, but it gets better. And it's worth it. I don't want Sara to hear me saying that though. I'd never hear the end of it.
Okay last question. What is your wish for the New Year?
Alli: *stares absently as she thinks* Hmm. I hope that everyone that I love finds love and happiness. Especially Sara, so that she quits meddling with my business. Seriously. *laughs*
Thank you so much for having me here today. I hope everyone has a fabulous New Year!

Book Description:
"You know what they say...a happy vagina is a happy woman. Well, they might not say that, but they should." -Alli
Thirty-five year-old Allison "Alli" Lancaster has it all--a fabulous job, a beautiful 15 year-old daughter, a hilarious BFF and a gorgeous house with a pool and Jacuzzi in an exclusive Las Vegas neighborhood. What she doesn't have is a husband, because she kicked her lousy, cheating ex to the curb nine months ago. Since then, Alli has paid her dues with seemingly endless self-improvement and seemingly endless mourning. Now she's ready to move on and try new things.
Alli's idea of "trying new things" is nothing like that devil-of-a-best-friend of hers. Somehow, Sara, the devil of a best friend, talks Alli into trying out a sex toy, sleeping with a younger man and letting a stranger in a lab jacket put hot wax on a place that should never, ever, ever see wax. And that's only the beginning.
Alli never saw her life going quite like this. She also never thought she'd meet someone else who had the very real potential to change her life forever.
But she did.
Enter the new guy. He's gorgeous, refined and mature. He's also marriage material. But that poses a problem for Alli, who renounced the institution of marriage when she renounced her ex. What's a girl to do?
They say that what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas. But what the heck happens when you can't leave Vegas? Well, you spin the wheel, of course. You play the game and let the chips fall where they may.
Alli just hopes she can find them all.
Book Excerpt:
I decide against wearing stockings or even panties today. I can’t believe I’m doing this, but I can’t have anything touching my girl. I just can’t. If I weren’t in so much pain, I would feel naughty for going to work sans panties.
As it is, I just feel grumpy. When I get in my car, I carefully arrange Brazilian Baldy so that she’s not rubbing against my seat. My phone buzzes. It’s Sara.
That’s your vagina talking, not you. You love me. You have to. Because I know all of your secrets.
I sigh. She has a point.
Fine. My vagina hates you, I answer.
I don’t even have time to stop and get coffee on the way to work, which definitely doesn’t bode well for my day.
As I breeze past Taylor, I growl, “I need coffee.”
She takes one look at my face and scrambles to her feet, presumably to find me some. I love that girl. She knows me so well. And also, she doesn’t want to put up with me sans caffeine. I know that much is true because I don’t want to put up with me sans caffeine either.
“Alli,” she calls from behind me, but I ignore her. I’m so not in the mood for anything right now until I have imbibed at least two cups.
“I’m not in the mood yet,” I call back as I open my office door.
I’m not usually such a bitch, but a raw crotch will do that to a person.
I stalk into my office and stop.
Alex is sitting casually on the couch, his legs propped up while he reads the Wall Street Journal. I stare. He glances up. He’s got two cups from a local coffee house sitting next to him. He is wearing black pinstripe slacks and a white button-up. He looks fresh and handsome and it’s apparent that he is certainly not suffering from a raw crotch.
And holy shit. Sara was right. It definitely depends on who is wearing the button-up as to how boring it is.
This white-button up is not boring at all. When it is stretched across two strong shoulders like that, how could it be boring?
Alex smiles.
It’s a beautiful smile that makes the corners of his gorgeous eyes crinkle.
“I took a chance and guessed that you like Kona coffee,” he says cheerfully, handing me one of the cups. “Sugar and cream. I’m sorry if it’s not right.”
“Bless you,” I say as I grab the cup greedily from his fingers. I restrain myself from gulping it down in two swallows. Instead, I sip it like a lady. A lady who has been wandering in the desert for two weeks and is ready to die from thirst, that is.
Alex laughs.
“Bad morning?”
I lower the cup. If I admit it, he might think I can’t handle personal stress after all. And I can’t tell him about my vag problems.
“Um. Just busy already,” I tell him.
“Well, I won’t keep you. I just wanted to tell you that I’ll be sitting in your staff meeting today. I just want to get a feel for your department. No big thing. I just didn’t want you to feel surprised.”
I smile. I’m feeling gracious now that the caffeine is circulating through my veins.
“It’s fine. I expected that you would join us today and obviously, you are welcome any time. Is there anything in particular you want us to cover?”
Alex shakes his sexy head.
“No. Just go on with business as usual. If I have questions, I’ll ask.”
He picks up his paper and takes his leave. He is barely gone before I buzz for Taylor. She walks in and I smile pleasantly.
“Is there any reason why you didn’t mention as I walked past you that our new boss was waiting for me in my office?”
She smiles back, like the saucy wench that she is.
“Yes. You said that you weren’t in the mood for it yet.”
I take four deep breaths and mentally pick up my stapler and throw it at her smiling head. She smiles wider, as if she knows my thoughts.
“In the future,” I say calmly, still smiling, “Please let me know when Alex Harris is waiting for me, even if I say that I’m not in the mood to hear it.”
She nods cheerfully. “Will do, boss. Should I also always tell you if you have lipstick on your teeth?"
I nod back. “Of course.”
She smiles. “You do.”

My Book Review:
What's a woman to do when she finds herself a recently divorced single mother of a fifteen year old daughter, who hasn't been in the dating world in ages? She relies on the over-the-top suggestions of her best friend of course!
Thirty-five year old Allison "Alli" Lancaster recently got divorced from her cheating ex-husband, "Rick the Dick," a no good SOB who cheated on her with every female within a twenty mile radius who was willing and had a heartbeat! Turning to her crazy best friend Sara for suggestions, she goes a good kind of crazy and embarks on a journey that will teach her things about herself, and how to embrace her inner cougar! So come along and take a ride on the crazy train into a crazy town that is Alli's world!
Oh my frigging god! Confessions Of An Alli Cat is one hell of a hilarious, laugh-out-loud, pee-your-pants, raunchy kind of tale that is sure to make you blush and tickle your funny bone! This is not your typical innocent little chick lit story or for the faint of heart, this book is for mature audiences only, you've been warned! This is the first book in the Cougar Chronicle series.
Author Courtney Cole weaves an entertaining tale written in the first person narrative told by Alli Lancaster, who takes the reader along for the ride as she embarks on a journey of self-discovery, and along the way she learns to add a little bit of spice to her life. This outrageously humorous, hot, sexy and romantic story will keep you in stitches as Alli and Sara's adventures unfold with some crazy antics and situations that they get themselves into. From Brazilian waxes to Botox; to buying and using a vibrator for the first time; to dating a hot young gigolo named Shade; to having the hots for her new boss Alex, Alli's eyes are opened to a whole new world full of fun and surprises that she could never have dreamed of having. Alli makes going crazy in a good kind of way so much fun!
Alli is such a fun character, she is sassy and hilarious, I could relate to her and commiserate with her, most of all I simply adored her! Alli certainly doesn't have a problem saying what she thinks, this woman keeps it real! She has an over-the-top best friend in Sara, who is hilarious in her own right, and helps Alli come out of her shell and add some much needed spice to her life. The crazy situations that they get themselves into was so funny, I couldn't help but have a case of the giggles as I turned the pages. And I would be remiss if I didn't mention the sexy young stud Shade or Alli's hot boss Alex. I had no problem visualizing what these two fine specimens of a male would look like, thank you to the author for providing some fun fantasy visualizations. *wink wink*
I can't say enough how much I enjoyed reading this story. It is one of the most entertaining books that I have recently read. With a quirky cast of characters; hysterical dialogue and sassy provocative interactions; a richly descriptive setting that is the one and only Sin City called Las Vegas; and a storyline that holds you captive, Confessions Of An Alli Cat is a non-stop entertaining story that gets two thumbs up and a sexy cougar growl! I am so looking forward to reading the next book in the Cougar Chronicles series.
