Book Description:

A heartbroken romance novelist is forced to address her writer's block when the villainous cowboy character from her books shows up in the real world, desperately in need of his own Happily Ever After. . . from the bestselling author of GMA book club pick The Love of My Afterlife.

Gertie Bickerstaff writes happily-ever-afters for a living. . . . Or she did, until her own love life fell apart. Now her ex is thriving, her deadline is looming, and she can’t write a single word.

The last thing Gertie needs is more drama—like waking up to find a confused and rugged cowboy on her sofa. And not just any cowboy, but River Oakley, the villain from her unfinished novel. Somehow very real . . . and very shirtless.

River wants to go home. Gertie wants her life back. So they strike a deal; he’ll use his cunning ways to help her win back her ex, she’ll finish the novel, and, surely, he’ll return to whatever world he rode in from.

But as River Oakley proves to be so much more than just the bad guy, Gertie has to the ending she thought she wanted . . . or the plot twist she never saw coming.

My Book Review:

In Romantic Hero, author Kirsty Greenwood weaves a fun romantic comedy tale of finding unexpected love.

Set in London, the reader is easily drawn into this entertaining rom com as they follow a heartbroken romance writer who is dealing with writer's block and her fictional cowboy character who is unexpectedly transported to the real world after she does a manifestation ceremony.

Romance novelist Gertie Bickerstaff's life isn't going well lately: her live-in boyfriend Henry Irving has recently dumped her and left her brokenhearted; and she has writer's block and the deadline to finish the last book in her series is due to the publisher in two weeks.

Gertie's neighbor Mrs. Casablancas thinks that Gertie needs to manifest her artistic juices, and they hold a manifestation ceremony on the roof of their apartment building during a full moon. Mrs. C tells Gertie to write down her desires, so she writes that she desires to be able to write again and also adds that she wants Henry back. The next day she comes out of her bathroom naked after a shower to find a shirtless cowboy sitting on her sofa! To make matters worse, the cowboy doesn't know how he got there and tells her that his name is River Oakley, the fictional villainous cowboy character in her Bedlam Creek series! Gertie and River think he has been transported via a parallel universe to help her get Henry back and resolve her writer's block. But to no avail, Gertie's writer's block hasn't been resolved, so Gertie and River devise a plan to make Henry jealous and want to come back to her, hoping that it would solve the writer's block and allow her to finish the book on time, and send River back to Bedlam Creek. Will Gertie and River's plan work, or will they discover that he was really sent to be her Romantic Hero?

Romantic Hero is such a fun and flirty romantic comedy that easily keeps the reader engaged as they follow Gertie and River's story. The reader follows along as their unexpected parallel universe partnering helps them rediscover their personal selves as well as an unexpected chance at finding real love and happiness in their lives.

There was a great mixture of emotion, drama, angst, banter, humor and crazy antics mixed in this story. The author does a great job of describing Gertie and River's lives, and how their undeniable chemistry has sparks flying, and their fake relationship becomes something much more real, when they finally realize that they are both where the universe intended them to be all along, in a world of their own.

Romantic Hero is a delightfully entertaining romantic comedy tale that romance fans will certainly enjoy!

Book Description:

Best friends have one week in paradise to fix their friendship or fall apart in this heart-stopping, utterly romantic new novel from the #1 New York Times bestselling author of Every Summer After and One Golden Summer.

Frankie and George have been best friends since they were eight years old. Both passionate, impulsive, and headstrong—they’ve always clashed . . . and come back together. Until now. It’s the eve of Frankie’s wedding weekend, and she doesn’t know where they stand or even if George will show up as her best man.

Then, at the start of the festivities, in walks George. For one glorious evening, surrounded by her loved ones, Frankie’s life is finally perfect. But it all comes crashing down when her fiancé dumps her the next morning, leaving only a note as an explanation.

Crushed and confused, Frankie returns to her family’s home to wallow. But George has a different idea and a plan for healing Frankie’s broken heart. He wants her to go on her honeymoon. With him. For one week, to the lush rainforests and misty beaches of Tofino.

Frankie agrees, seeing the trip for what it really is: one last chance to repair their friendship. Even if it means unearthing secrets and long buried feelings neither knows how to handle. Even if it means falling apart for good.

My Book Review:

In Our Perfect Storm, author Carley Fortune weaves a swoon-worthy romantic tale of discovering that a lifelong best friendship was really a case of loving soulmates all along.

Set in Tofino, Vancouver Island, the reader is easily drawn into this emotional romantic story as they follow the dramatic change in the best friendship of Frankie Gardiner and George Saint James.

Frankie and George have been best friends since they were eight years old when George moved in next door with his grandmother, Mimi. Their lives had been intertwined, and they had been inseparable from the day that they met. Now twenty-two years later, the thirty-year-old best friends reunite for Frankie's wedding after being apart for several years due to their careers. But one day before the wedding, Frankie wakes up to a note left by her fiancé Nate calling off their wedding. Frankie's family encourages her two months later to go on the planned honeymoon to the seaside resort in Tofino, Vancouver Island with George, who has a seven-step plan to help her move on, and also repair their friendship.

Our Perfect Storm is such a wonderful romantic tale that easily keeps the reader engaged as they follow Frankie and George's story. The reader follows along as their lifelong best friendship changes when they spend a week together at a resort in Tofino, Vancouver Island. Their friendship takes an
unexpected turn when they discover that their longtime platonic friendship has been so much more than that, just denied and hidden under the surface, only to finally realize and acknowledge that they are soulmates and have a chance at having love and happiness together.

There was a great mixture of emotion, drama, angst, banter, and humor mixed in this story. The author does a great job of describing Frankie and George's lives and their long-shared history, and how their undeniable chemistry has sparks flying, even when they needed to figure out that their best friendship had something much more loving and real right in front of them the whole time. Geez they danced around their attraction for so many years, but who doesn't love reading about friendship to lovers' kind of romance stories!

Our Perfect Storm is a wonderful story that has enough emotional depth, drama, romance, comedy, and witty banter, that makes it a delightfully entertaining romantic tale that romance fans will certainly enjoy!
